Nomads Essentials Liquid Shampoo
Our shampoos are free from Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES), Sodium Lauryl Sulphates (SLS) and Parabens.
Ingredients: Water, Decyl Glucoside, Acrylates Copolymer, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Coco Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, DMDM Hydantoin, Citric Acid, Triethanolamine
INCI Name: Decyl Glucoside, A mild non-ionic surfactant made from sustainable harvests of corn, potato and wheat. Decyl glucoside is produced by the reaction of glucose from corn starch with the fatty alcohol decanol which is derived from coconut.
INCI Name: Acrylates Copolymer (accepted in Europe)
Ingredient Function: Fixative
Source: Safe Synthetic, Provides excellent setting effect, water resistance, and curl retention even under extreme conditions of humidity.
INCI Name: Cocamidopropyl Betaine
Ingredient Function: Surfactant
Source: Natural &/or Organic. A mild secondary surfactant used in shampoos for children or for colored hair. An organic compound derived from coconut oil and dimethylaminopropylamine.[1] It is a zwitterion, consisting of both a quaternary ammonium cation and a carboxylate. CAPB is available as viscous pale yellow solution that is used as a surfactant in personal care products. The name reflects that the major part of the molecule, the lauric acid group, is derived from coconut oil. Cocamidopropyl betaine to a significant degree has replaced cocamide DEA. Cocamidopropyl betaine is used as a foam booster in shampoos.
INCI Name: Coco-Glucoside
Ingredient Function: Surfactant
Source: Natural &/or Organic. A non-ionic surfactant that is suitable for use as a base surfactant or a co-surfactant in cosmetic cleansing preparations. Coco-glucoside is a synthetic surfactant produced by chemical reaction between glucose and coconut oil-derived ingredients.
INCI Name: Glycol Distearate (and) Coco-Glucoside (and) Glyceryl Oleate (and) Glyceryl Stearate
Ingredient Function: Pearlizer/Opacifier
Source: Safe Synthetic. A plant based wax used for aesthetic qualities of shampoos and other cleansing formulations.
INCI Name: Citric Acid
Ingredient Function: Conditioner
Source: Natural &/or Organic. A naturally-derived, food-grade acid commonly found in citrus fruits and vegetables; maintains proper pH balance and restores acid mantle of the hair and scalp.
INCI Name: Triethanolamine
Ingredient Function: Intermediate-pH Adjuster
Source: Safe Synthetic. A mild pH adjuster used in cosmetics.
About DMDM HYDANTOIN: DMDM hydantoin is an antimicrobial formaldehyde releaser preservative. People exposed to such formaldehyde-releasing ingredients may develop a formaldehyde allergy or an allergy to the ingredient itself and its decomposition products. In the U.S., approximately 20% of cosmetics and personal care products contain a formaldehyde-releaser and the frequency of contact allergy to these ingredients is much higher among Americans compared to studies in Europe.
