In the beginning, perhaps has early as 2700BC, travellers would cross great distances over difficult and often harsh land routes to exchange goods, intellect and technology. Silk was one of the earliest prized commodities; hence the term “Silk Road”. As the trade routes extended, spices became highly sought after; many rare and expensive spices like cinnamon, cassia, cardamom, ginger, pepper, turmeric and salt were used for commerce. The Silk Road became an important route connecting Asia with the Mediterranean world, including North Africa and Europe, spanning over 7000 kilometers. At Nomads Essentials, our Silk Road Soap may invoke a sensation of time travel... Imagine visiting a bustling market filled with strange and rare goods and spices carried in on camel caravans cared for by nomadic traders... it’s an enchanting experience that can only be described as exotic and intoxicating. Our essential oil blend speaks to the evocative mystery that is the essence of the Silk and Spice Trade Routes that have been in use for millennia. A nourishing, refreshing and delightfully smelling soap made with oils plus cocoa butter and a harmonious fusion of spearmint, pink grapefruit, sweet birch, jasmine and rosemary essential oils. Chlorella has been added for its properties as an antioxidant, cell rejuvenator and as a soap colorant. Spearmint leaves are added for texture too!
We recently received this story from the daughter of an ailing mother who was diagnosed with a severe case of pneumonia. The mother was not given a very good chance of surviving the pneumonia by her doctor. The daughter, not willing to give up that easy, decided to rub Nomads Essentials Cold and Chest Balm on her mother three times a day in conjunction with the health care she was being given. The result is that the mother walked out of the hospital much to the surprise of the medical team. It is impossible for us to say that our chest balm can cure pneumonia but in this case the daughter says it is the very thing that did. We are thrilled for the dramatic recovery for this mother, her daughter and family. We only hope that everyone might have an outcome so beautiful.
This wonderful batch of soap made with Mayne Island Brewing Company's brown beer is ready for sale soon. Using a wonderful suggestion from nomads essentials guest Graham, we added bergamot to the essential oil blend. WOW, it made it "pop" and it blends very well with the cedar, patchouli, vetiver, oakmoss and benzoin.
Are you planning a getaway or have you already been hanging out relaxing on your epic adventure? After 24 hours of intense work, every batch of Nomads Essentials soap gets a one month holiday before it goes to work for you. Wow, to be a bar of Nomads Essentials soap! When it's ready to go to work it gets to caress and nourish your body. The month of rest cures the soap and allows the essential oils to blend and develop the exquisite aroma our soaps are renowned for.
